So the rink that we all know and attend has closed it's doors to skaters due to a water main break. According to sources the rink suffered over $200,000 in damages and is scheduled to reopen to skate in August.
WTF! I was hurt! Our regularly scheduled skate night postponed for a month. What are you going to do?

I know! That report about Cascade flooding on Fox 5 Atlanta nearly KILLED me! Well, I tried Thursday night at Skate Towne off Old National and I just can't do that one -- crappy floor, crappy sound system. All American's too far away although they usually have good music and the floor's on par w/Cascade. Also recently tried Skate Zone on Sunday AND Tuesday nights, both of which were dull to me, although their floor's decent. Not EVEN going back to small-floor size Metro/Golden Glide, or cruddy-floor Sparkles in Cobb. "The Cave", you say off Upper Riverdale road?? H*LL to the NAW!! Now I REALLY wished Buster's (old Sparkles) in Riverdale hadn't closed cause that used to be my #2 rink!
In summary, I'll be lacing up my Quadlines (big wheels) and skating either in the garage or at a local park til Cascade re-opens. Or maybe just chill and focus more on my summer bowling league in Forest Park for a month.
A fellow skater (rollerblader, Kevin) and I chatted about this very topic last Thursday as we labored to have a good time at Skate Towne. Cascade was the best and will be that again when it reopens!!
