Wisconsin in the house!

I have moved to Milwaukee, WI. I have been here going on two weeks. I went skating last Wednesday (at a rink whos name I will not disclose). When I went to pay for admission the guy directed me to the atm machine. They don't take cards!!! WTF!?! Ok. Ofcourse the machine charges $2. I went back up to pay, again, and this time I was informed that I would have to pay $5 for toe plugs ( I took my stoppers off long ago). The first locker I used took my .50 and I had to have two screws put in my left skate because the plate was detaching from the wheel.
PEOPLE, I SPENT $20 TO SKATE FOR TWO HOURS!!! The session was from 7pm-10pm, admission $7. I made a deliberate point to skate-my-a**-off! The toe plugs kept me from doing all that I wanted, but I had a great time! Met some great folks!

And then a flood came...

So the rink that we all know and attend has closed it's doors to skaters due to a water main break. According to sources the rink suffered over $200,000 in damages and is scheduled to reopen to skate in August.
WTF! I was hurt! Our regularly scheduled skate night postponed for a month. What are you going to do?

So many questions without answers. So many answers that are questionable.
I appreciated the fact that when this man danced, he didn't just do one style of dance. He did whatever the music told him to do.

I know, I know... my presence at the rink has been minimal (especially since I used to skate 2-3 x a week).
'Ish is rough! It's a peaceful, learning kinda rough, but rough nonetheless! Tonight does not look very promising either, but things can change in 10 hours (since the session starts at 8pm). The longest time I have ever gone without skating is a month.

I met this young man the other day who was skate boarding off some steps at a middle school. He had the classic look (medium length hair and all). We spoke for a little while and as it turns out, he used to roller skate all the time.
Yes, we are two different sports but we are still in the same family. Our last name is "Roller" and that is what matters!

Can't We All Just Get Along?!?

Ok, so the reason I attend "adult night" skating sessions is because I am an adult. I like to skate with mature adults and have a good time. I have never seen a fight on a Wednesday night until last night and all I have to say is this:
TAKE YOUR *ISH OUTSIDE OR LEAVE IT AT HOME!
The rink is the place to get away from the drama, not to add a new location for it!
