Been needing an outlet like this to vent. First of all. The music you guys play in ATL sucks. Let me explain. Music is made up of frequencies. The combination and arrangement of these frequencies create thought patterns. These patterns provoke movement. Movement is the expression of the SPIRIT (soul). These are metaphysical properties. With that said the crap that is played at all of the rinks except Skate Zone, where the DJ takes a chance, is garbage. Just commercial radio dirty south rap crap. Plus Skate Zone has the best floor, "bar none", in the A. It is a shame because some of the best funk, soul, and R&B singers came from the south. Quite is kept, Atlanta as a great underground music environment. Plenty of talent right here in the A, but these folks are not sellouts which means that their stuff don't get air time. Tune out from commercial radio crap and tune into internet radio or XM if you have it. Don't let the radio CLOWNS dictate their improperganda to your earhole... There are many option. Try something new, Acid Jazz, Downtempo, Lounge, or Trip Hop. I came to Atlanta for the skating, but was soon disappointed. Yes I am from the north, which is culturally and musically rich. I don't expect people in the south to catch on so quickly, but stop resisting. We are your brothers and sisters. stop holding on to the old southern methods and ways of thinking. For example; the Huckabuck, which you guys picked up from the white speed skaters. Their is no race to win. Skating is an art form, and as an artist, creativity must flow. How in the f@$& can you keep doing the same movement for twenty years or more. New skaters must enter the floor at the edge first so they can get to the center. Running them over, and not stopping to help them up will tramatise these people and they might never come back... Is that what you want?. You people are not getting any younger. Don't live on regret. Don't wait until you are too old to bust the move. We were once King and Queens lets start acting like true Africans.
